“It’s always been my dream to become a Knight! I think this became my dream because of both of my parents being Knights. But, in order for me to protect them, I need to learn how to use Magic, and learn how to fight, physically!”
That was Justice.
He has messy, flaming red hair, a trait which he had gotten from his mother. He also had crystal blue eyes, a trait which he had gotten from his father. He’s a bit skinny, but with proper training every day, he’ll be just as well-built as his father in no time!
“Hmm? Justice? Where are you?”
That voice came from Justice’s father, Philip.
Both men and women can agree on Philip being the most handsome man in the Lunin Kingdom. Philip is a tall, light-skinned, handsome man with effulgent green hair and blue eyes.
Despite Philip being in his early 30s, most people interpret him to be in his early 20s.
“Philip. He’s right there. Behind that wriggling bush.”
“Kristi, how many times do I have to remind you that he’s just a child? Would it kill you to not take everything so literally?”
Kristi was Philip’s wife and Justice’s mother. Kristi is a beautiful woman. She has medium length red hair, silky smooth and supple as it drapes over the back of her neck.
She has vibrant, dark blue eyes that shine like sapphires, filled with warmth.
“Hu—wha— Okay! Fine!”
“Anyways, Justice! Can you hear me? Where did you go? My clairvoyance isn’t able to sense you either!”
“I’m right here!”
“Can we just start with the training already?”
“Alright, I hear you. First, Justice, we need to see if your Gate is available for use right now.”
Magic is a paranormal power that alters mana passing through a gate into a form that has an effect on reality. Due to Justice being a young child, his gate is very small, and can only be used a few times a day.
Philip kneels down until he is almost the same height as Justice. He closes his eyes while putting his hand on Justice’s head. It looks like he’s muttering something under his breath. Both Philip and Justice then start glowing with white Aura. The white Aura disappears when Philip takes his hand off of Justice’s head.
“It looks like we’ll be able to train today, but not as much as we can on other days. Did you happen to use your magic today?”
Justice, obviously guilty of doing so, hides his face in a different direction, pretending to look at something.
“No…”
“Okay then. Due to your amount of mana remaining today, we’ll just have to learn some of the weaker spells.”
Mana is like MP and Stamina. As soon as you run out of it, you aren’t able to cast Magic spells anymore or aren’t able to do much (physically) until you replenish it.
People like Philip who have broken their limits have mana overflowing in their bodies, thus they are able to use all of their strength while fighting and are able to cast spells that cost an extraordinary amount of times, seemingly endlessly.
“Let’s start off with something simple.”
『 Ul Fura! 』
Air currents strong enough for the eye to see surrounded Philip’s arm like the loose clothing of a dancer. He moves his arm as if he was swinging a sword and when he did that, a burst of wind flies straight at a tree—— cutting it in half.
“Now, to do this, you must visualize the flow of mana through your body. Then expel a part of it, through your gate, out of your body.”
Justice starts blushing with excitement.
He breathes in, and out, very slowly.
『 Ul Fura! 』
Like Philip, Justice also releases a burst of wind, however, unlike Philip, the burst Justice released was significantly smaller. The recoil of the spell pushes him back.
“Wow, you did it! But it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to cast any more spells for the day... Why don't we just wrap up our training here?”
“FINALLY! I dunno about you, but I’m going to take a nice and warm bath.~”
Justice, walking back to his room, opens a door to a room that was enclosed on all sides and was filled with the choking scent of old books. The Forbidden Archive. A huge library with spiral stairs in the center of the room.
“Huh? Wait. This must be Beatrice’s doing!”
Beatrice can connect the door of the library to any door in the mansion she wishes to. She can also use a limited version to teleport things. Whenever she hasn’t chosen a destination, the door of the library just connects itself to random doors of the Mansion.
“Don’t use my name so lightly, I suppose.”
He saw a cute little girl with long, cream-colored drill hair and an extravagant dress. A small body, and cute, yet peevish features.
“AH!”
Justice pouts and pretends he didn’t scream.
“Jeez Beako, you’re very small. I didn’t even see you there.”
Beatrice starts to look serious.
“What’s that supposed to mean? We’re the same height, you know.”
“Nuh-uh!”
Sigh “What can I do for you, so you leave me alone?”
“Well... According to my parents, I only know 2 types of Magic — which are Wind and Fire Magic — right now, and I want to learn mo——”
Beatrice throws a book at him, which Justice miraculously catches.
“H–Hey! What was that for?!”
“You asked for something that could teach you new types of Magic and that’s exactly what I gave you.”
“Oh. Well, thanks I guess.”
Justice walks over to Beatrice
“Ugh! You’re irritating me!”
“Breakfast doesn’t start until 10 more minutes, I think.”
“So?”
“Can I stay here and hang until then?”
“No.”
“What’s that book you’re reading?”
“It explains how to get rid of bugs that have gotten into my room, I suppose.”
“You’ve got bugs in the library? That sucks. What kind of bugs?”
“It’s time for you to leave, I suppose. You’ve got what you needed, I suppose.”
“Wow, you’re very direct, thanks for the help, though. I'll be counting on you again!”
He walks over to the Library’s doors. As he’s about to leave, he’s stopped with these words:
“I don’t want to be counted on, I suppose. So don’t come in here again!”
“Eh?”
“Shoo, shoo.”
“"Shoo, shoo"?”
“Wait! When you said ‘bugs’ you meant me?!”
“Just get out this instant!”
She lifts up her hand and points it at him. An invisible gust knocks Justice out of the Forbidden Archive.
A maid with medium length sky blue hair that covers her right eye, sees Justice get kicked out of the Archive.
“There you are, Mr. Justice. Breakfast is about to start.”
After everyone had gathered in the dining room. Rem, and her older twin Sister, Ram, start setting out the plates, and glasses of water for everyone.
Lund Wald is an overweight man with a round face, a balding head with blond wavy hair on the sides and a short stature. Wald is the ruler of the domain and the mansion. He always sits at the head of the table.
“As always, I would like to thank each and every one of you for protecting me and the mansion to this day! Like, imagine if I wasn’t here. It’d be a complete disaster.”
“Hmph, if it wasn’t for that contract, I wouldn’t even be here and I probably would’ve been living a better life, without someone as self-centered as you there.”
“Well, I kind of have to agree with Beatrice. She was right, you’re very self-centered, Dad.”
Mallow Wald, Lund’s Daughter, was the one who agreed.
Soon after Mallow said that other Knights that were sitting at the table all agreed with her.
“I–I–I can’t believe this! I give you all the privilege to live in my mansion and feed you my food, but now you’re all turning against me?!”
“I think you’re over-exaggerating. Calm down, please.”
“You guys are the people who are over-exaggerating! Calling me self-centered, I should’ve just kicked you guys all out when I had the chance.”
Wald runs off.
“He has the mentality of an Eight-year-old child. Who even let him be the ruler of this Domain in the first place?”
“He has a bigger ego than Aqua, which I thought was impossible.”
Aqua is the Ex-Water Goddess that is described as being supernaturally beautiful. She has blue waist-long hair that is partially tied into a loop with a water-molecule (H₂O) shaped clip.
“Take that back, you damn human!”
“As soon as you get your Goddess spot back!”
“Looks like both Walds are equally as immature as the other.”
“I’ll try to get Mr. Wald back here. We have basically the same mindset after all!”
Justice walks out of the Dining Room and finds the front door of the mansion open. He goes outside and finds Wald crying on the porch. Naturally, he goes and comforts him.
“Hey, I hope you know that they weren’t trying to be mean, or anything.”
“If I go back, do you think that they’ll laugh at me?”
“Of course not. You’re the ruler of this domain, after all.”
“Okay... But can you answer a question I have?”
“Sure!”
“What is that..?”
Wald points at a something not Human. He had 4 tendrils that had blade-like parts at the end, sprouting from his neck. He also had a plethora of eyes.
Justice looks up at the monstrosity. His eyes become filled with despair, and he was covered in sweat and frozen in place.
Although Wald kept on asking Justice what was happening, Justice could not hear anything, nor could he tear his eyes away from the man in front of him.
The man lunges one of his tendrils at Justice.
Justices body begins to move without knowing it, he dodges the lethal strike. Then he starts to feel a sharp stabbing pain in his leg.
Justice looks over to his leg and sees that a chunk of meat on his leg, was missing.
Tears ran across his cheeks. Though Justice still had some fighting spirit left, he moves his hand in a slicing fashion and goes:
『 Ul Fura! 』
The man deflects the burst with only one of his tendrils.
At this point, Justice fell into utter despair and didn't know what to do.
The Man sends all four of his tendrils flying at Justice.
“Justice—”
“————”
When Justice opened his eyes, he saw a man with effulgent green hair and a white knight uniform.
“Dad—”
“You can wipe the tears off of your face now”
Philip charges at the man. From Justice’s perspective, it looked like Philip teleported. But that wasn’t it.
Philip has a technique called “The Blessing of the Wind.” He absorbs all of the Wind around him and uses aforementioned Wind to increase his speed. It was a stat-amplification move, unique to Philip
In the blink of an eye, the man was cut into pieces, among pieces.
