——“Rem!”
“Mr. Justice, we have to get you back to the mansion now. It seems that the man is slowly recovering and judging by the injury I have gotten, I will not be able to fight anymore.”
“But won’t you die from that injury?..”
“Everything is okay. Like that man, I am also using my healing magic to recover, but I am not able to heal fast enough to be able to fight anymore. Right now, the most important thing to do is to get you back to the mansion safely.”
The man lunges a tendril at them. As the smoke clears, he realizes that he hit nothing but smoke. Meanwhile, in the forest that is connecting the Mansion to the village, Rem was running away, while carrying Justice, bridal style.
“You should slow down. I don’t see any signs of that Man.”
“Can the both of you please stop referring me as “That Man”? My name is Gouto.”
Suddenly, Gouto appears in front of them.
“Well, Gouto, why are you attacking us?”
“The both of you look human. My species look at Humans as food. I only tend to hunt for humans when I’m very hungry, and the people at that village weren’t very appetizing, but you two, on the other hand, look very tasty...”
He began to grow ten tendrils from his back instead of four and fires all of them at Rem.
“Huma!”,
Rem tries deflecting them with a forcefield made out of water, but the only thing that came out was steam. Once the steam cleared, it had appeared that all of the tendrils had hit her in multiple areas.
“I guess you really weren’t lying about not being in fighting shape. You were so confident in your magic deflecting my attack, that you forgot about how much mana you lost while initially fighting me.”
“Mr. Justice... Please go back to the mansion... And don’t count on my arri—”
Her lifeless body collapses on to the ground.
“Rem!”
Justice runs to her but gets pushed back by a strong force.
“Don’t worry, I’ll eat you as soon as I’m done eating her.”
When he tried to move his left arm, all he felt was extreme pain. There was no doubt that his arm was broken. There was nothing Justice could do besides retreat back to the Mansion. In hope of bringing someone here to avenge Rem, Justice ran as fast as he could into the forest. Gouto didn’t seem to notice as he was busy with feasting on Rem’s corpse.
He ran and ran until he collapsed. Before he could close his eyes he saw a girl’s silhouette.
“I guess I restarted again...”, he thinks to himself.
He tries lifting his left arm, and when he did, he didn’t feel any pain. “Maybe this time I can save Rem.” he thinks.
“It seems that your injuries have healed. Do you know where Rem is?”
The voice that said this came from his right side. When he turned his head, he saw a girl with peach-colored hair――Ram... Rem’s twin sister.
Justice was hesitant to say anything, but he built up courage and told Ram.
“Ram... I’m sorry! I couldn’t protect your sister—— why did you heal me?!”
Ram looked sincerely shocked. After hearing that, she looked very worried, and wrathful; a combination of the two.
“It’s okay. It wasn’t your fault that Rem died. You did what you could. And, it wasn’t me who healed you, it was Lord Roswaal who healed you on my request.”
“You asked him to heal me? It’s funny because you tried to kill me the last timeline.” he jokingly said in his mind. “Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?”
She stood up from her seat and looks out the window.
“Tell me who—— No, what killed Rem. I will get vengeance. No matter what.”
“——”
“I a~m forb~idding y~ou from do~ing th~at, Ram.”
A well-built man walks into Justice’s room. He looked like a clown, with all the makeup, and an outfit resembling that of a Jester’s. It had been Roswaal.
“Lord Roswaal—— I don’t understand why you’re forbidding me from avenging my sister!”
She didn’t sound like the ‘always calm Ram’ anymore. She sounded absolutely furious. Reminiscent of the Ram that tried killing Justice. She had looked furious as well, looking as if she was restraining herself from bursting.
“Do you realize what will happen when I let both of Lund Wald’s servants get killed? Letting Rem die was bad enough, but one of the Knights’ children getting severely bruised, and letting another servant get killed, won’t mean anything good.”
What was this? The person who was saying this wasn’t goofy-old Roswaal. Roswaal was being serious. He seemed like a completely different person.
“——Yes... I do...”
Ram walks out of Justice’s room. It was very hard to believe that “furious Ram” was so obedient to Roswaal. Maybe he had used a spell on her? No, it didn’t seem like it.
“I’ll let y~ou g~et som~e more re~st, Mr. Justice.”
Roswaal leaves Justice’s room.
“Ugh. I don’t know what to do. Maybe I could get Roswaal’s help and improve my Magic skills. No— I already owe him for healing me.”
He looks disappointed. He spends the next few minutes thinking about what he should do. Until the right idea hit him!
“Wait, what if I and someone else get vengeance on Rem on that Gouto guy? If we do, then Ram will be in my debt. I saw her use some pretty powerful Wind Magic last timeline, maybe she could help me improve them!”
“I don’t understand what you meant when you said “last timeline,” but getting this girl named “Ram” to owe you would mean killing me. But I doubt that’ll happen.”
Justice finds a man, reminiscent of a dinosaur, looking through his window.
“Gouto——”

**Sorry this chapter was a little short, I wanted to get another Chapter out this month, so I just released what I had written. I know it’s Quality over Quantity, but I still wanted another one to come out this month. I promise the next chapter’ll be longer!
